“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
This quote is often misattributed to British author and theologian, C.S. Lewis, however, it is more likely written by American author James Sherman many years after Lewis’s death. Strangely though, once the quote was published on Facebook, it spread like wildfire and published time and time again in print and online, always attributing the quote to Lewis.

I found it in the wonderful book, “Daily mantra’s to ignite your purpose” by Lisa Messenger, and was surprised that it hadn’t been fact checked before going into print. It seemed to be basic to check the quote against the correct author. But then I wondered, in this time of continual content overload, are we at a point where we don’t even care about what is true and not true? I think in Lisa’s case it is simply an oversight, however, I feel it a worthwhile question to ponder in our current times.

2020 brought with it an undeniable amount of information and disinformation. At times, it was overwhelming to know where to look and what to believe. The world wasn’t simply experiencing a global pandemic, but a global infodemic alongside it. And seemingly, it has highlighted further the chasm between those who accept anything they hear as gospel and those who seek to find veracity and meaning around them.

At Geometric Inspired decided to take some time over last year to delve in to find the truth, recalibrating the business and ourselves. Walking in nature, more meaningfully connecting with family, and meditating provided a steady framework to cut out the infodemic noise and allow clarity of thought. Now we feel confident and inspired by our vision for the year, and importantly where to contract to allow other areas of ourselves to flourish.

I have found recently I am gravitating to wearing jewellery featuring The Flower of Life. This pattern has been used across every major ancient culture found on artefacts from Western Europe to China. It represents the blueprint of creation, the cycle of life, and holds the profound awareness of the interconnectedness of all life.

I see this year as one of rebuilding, but not to take to simply take us back to where we started. Instead, we as a collective must learn from the past to move mindfully in better directions. We are eager to take our beautiful loyal Geometric Inspired fans on the journey with us.

So, whoever did say it, they were right. You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. Time to all connect into the power of 2021 and evolve with love.
